Florida Live Scan applicants are often required to provide an ORI number before their fingerprints can be submitted. The ORI number tells FDLE which agency, licensing board, or organization should receive the background check results.
Important: Some employers and organizations have their own specific ORI number, especially under VECHS or agency-specific screening programs. If you are unsure which ORI applies to you, please contact the agency requesting your background check before scheduling your Florida Live Scan appointment.

In Florida, “Level 2” refers to a fingerprint-based check that often requires a digital photograph to be taken at the same time. We have the Live Scan and photo capability required to enter your screening into the AHCA Clearinghouse.
The ORI number is an agency identifier, and is a 9-digit code (e.g., FL921050Z) that tells the system exactly which Florida agency should receive your results.
IMPORTANT: We cannot provide your ORI number. You must get this from your employer, licensing board, or application instructions. Using the wrong ORI will result in your prints being sent to the wrong department.
No. California and Florida use entirely different systems. A California Live Scan stays within the CA DOJ/FBI system. A Florida Live Scan must be submitted through the proper Florida Live Scan system using the correct Florida ORI or agency instructions. If you need a Florida background check, make sure you schedule specifically for Florida Live Scan, not California Live Scan.
